Kima is an Auckland based Barrister specialising in criminal defence.

An experienced advocate and advisor with a background in serious drug, sex and violence-related offending. Kima also has considerable experience in fraud, bribery, corruption and internal investigations. She consults internationally for both NGO and Corporate organisations in compliance, governance, safeguarding and anti-corruption.

 Prior to joining the Independent Bar Kima was a Crown Prosecutor where she prosecuted serious crime. She has also worked for the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care where she led one of the Inquiry’s Catholic case studies examining historic sexual abuse of boys in residential and faith-based care. Kima is also a former Serious Fraud Office lawyer where she specialised in serious and complex fraud investigations.

Kima undertakes both District and High Court trials and can be instructed privately. She is also approved to undertake criminal Legal Aid assignments.
